What We Believe

Campus Collective is an evangelical interdenominational ministry that allows for a diversity of theological perspective and practice. We see our diversity as a strength that allows everyone involved in our ministry to grow deeper in the mysteries of our shared faith. In the strength of our diversity we must also share a number of core beliefs so that we might stand strong together in unity. Below are the statements where we find unity in our diversity.

God

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is God’s word and divine revelation to humanity. It is our source for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that those belonging to God may be proficient, and equipped for every good work.

The Nature of Sin

Sin, through Adam and Eve, corrupts all of creation and relationship. All of creation is in need of redemption and healing that can only come through Jesus Christ.

The Nature of Humanity

We believe humans are created in God’s image. Humanity has been corrupted by sin through the original sin of Adam and Eve. Every person is in need of redemption and salvation by God through Jesus Christ. Although humanity is corrupted by sin, they are all the more loved by God. It is the love and grace of God through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ that humanity is able to be saved and redeemed back to Him. It is in Jesus that we are able to throw off the old bondages of sin and receive a new nature of righteousness before God.

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary, and is fully God and fully man.

We believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; that He rose victorious from the grave on the third day; and that all who believe in Him are justified by His shed blood.

We believe He is the only way of salvation and that it is by His love, righteousness, and His willing sacrifice on the cross that saves us.

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is an equal person in Trinitarian relationship with Father and Son consisting of the same substance as the Father and Son. The Holy Spirit is sent by the Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ, and that He is an abiding helper, teacher, and guide.

We believe the Holy Spirit empowers spiritual gifts as God wills to His children. These gifts are designed to testify to the presence of the Kingdom and to build up the body of Jesus Christ.

Salvation

We believe that salvation, the forgiveness of sins, and the promise of eternal life is only possible through faith in Jesus Christ. In response to faith in Jesus Christ one should repent of sin, confess their faith in Jesus, and be baptized in obedience and as a witness to the world of the saving work of Jesus Christ.

Human Relationship

We believe God created humans in His image and in need of relationship with God and one another. We believe God makes relationship with Himself possible through the love and grace of His covenant that He has made with us through Jesus.

We believe God created us for deep relationships of friendship and community with one another.

We believe God made humans male and female and created marriage as the covenantal union between one man and one woman.

The end of all human relationships is to grow us in holiness and in deeper relationship with God.

Human Dignity

We believe God made man and woman in His image and that every person is unique and has intrinsic worth and dignity. Every person is deserving of kindness, respect, and love as shown to us through Jesus Christ.
